D-9 Foundation Board of Trustees, Chairperson

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Serves as ex officio, non voting member, to the D-9 Foundation Board of Trustees, Executive Committee and all other standing committees of the Board. Supports operations and administration of Board by advising and informing board members. Interfaces between Board, volunteers, and staff, and supports Board’s evaluation of chief executive.

Provides assistance to the Board Chairperson with annual, long range planning and Board Development. Includes design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, products and services.

Provides assistance to the Treasurer and Chairperson in developing an annual budget for Board approval. Manages Foundation’s resources within those budget guidelines according to current laws, regulations, IRS rules and accounting standards.

Provides assistance to the Board Chairperson by coordinating the planning, and implementation of fund raising activities approved by the Board. Includes identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach funders, submitting proposals and administrating fund raising records and documentation. These shall include, but are not limited to, direct mail, personal solicitations, benefit events and grant writing.

Plans and supervises the public relations program of the Foundation. Assures the Foundation that its mission, programs, products, and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant stake holders.

Hires and manages the human resources of the organization according to authorized personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations as directed by the Executive Committee.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Chairperson.
